I had a wonderful afternoon today, sketching at Hengisbury Head in Dorset. There is a perfect strip of golden sand, blue sea and beautiful beach huts, which you access via a ferry boat from Mudeford Quay. A lovelier spot would be hard to find!

I've had a very exciting morning experimenting with a laser cutter. I can collage onto wood and then cut out my picture like a jigsaw piece. This photo may look like a silly shaped piece of burnt wood and a matching hole... but to me it represents a creative breakthrough!
I fixed a camera above my desk and took a photo every 15 minutes to show the evolution of this collage. The finished picture of Welshback, Bristol will be on show at my Open Studio this weekend (Sat 9th & Sun 10th May) as part of Bath Open Studios. Details of the trail can be found at www.newbridgeartstrail.com. Limited edition prints of the image are also available.
